Virtually any composition of Caesar can be served as an appetizer in a pita, that is, as a Caesar roll. Look at the collected selection of Caesar salads on the site and choose from them a filling for a pita roll.Serving in pita bread at a picnic is especially appropriate. You can prepare salad leaves, tomatoes, eggs, shrimp or other toppings and arrange them in containers or put them together in one large container. In a separate jar, bring your own homemade dressing or a store-bought one (from a reliable manufacturer). Place the grated cheese either in a container or in a food bag. To make a Caesar roll at home, prepare the ingredients according to the list.
Boil the eggs. If you are going to serve the roll right away, you can boil them to the “bagged” stage, i.e. when the white is fully set and the yolk is soft. If you will be making the roll at a picnic some time after cooking, boil – hard-boiled.
Cut the cooled eggs into 6-8 pieces, cut the tomatoes into thin slices, tear the leaf lettuce (iceberg, romaine) by hand or shred the Peking cabbage. Shrimp are usually sold frozen, so thaw and peel them.
For shipping, place these prepared ingredients in different containers or in one large container.
For the roll, you can use either a whole pita or half of it, as you prefer. The classic Caesar includes bread crumbs. It’s up to you whether to add them to the roll…
Assemble a Caesar roll to serve. Place slices of lettuce and tomato slices on the pita.
Add the shrimp and egg pieces.
Pour the sauce, sprinkle with cheese and roll up into a tight roll.
For convenience, wrap half of the roll in food paper or place it in a suitable food bag.
The “Caesar” roll is ready.
Bon appetit!
