Turret Cakes with Chocolate Cream
IngredientsFrozen puff pastry – 450 g
Chicken egg – 1 pc.
Egg white – 1 pc.
Butter – 100 g
Cocoa powder – 1 tbsp.
granulated sugar – 2 tablespoons.

Step by step recipe with photoWith the advent of ready-made puff pastry on the market, preparing many dishes has become much easier. It can be used for both sweet and savory fillings. Especially delicious are baked with a filling of various creams. Drinking tea or coffee with these cakes is a real pleasure!
To make the chocolate cream puff pastry “Turrets” you need to take ready-made frozen puff pastry, chicken egg, egg white, butter, cocoa powder and granulated sugar.
Leave the dough at room temperature to thaw, then use a glass to cut out 6 mm diameter circles. You will need four circles for one cake.
In three circles of four (for 1 cake) with a notch 2-2.5 cm in diameter, squeeze out small circles.
On a circle without a hole put three circles with holes in the form of “towers”, gluing them with egg white.
“Place the towers on a baking tray, sprinkled with water, and bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees until browned. Let cool.
Beat the egg with the sugar.
Put the container with the egg mixture in a water bath and, continuing to whisk, bring the mixture to thicken, and then add cocoa in small portions and whisk until homogeneous. Let the mixture cool.
Whip the butter softened at room temperature beforehand and with further continuous beating add the chocolate mixture to it.
Use a pastry bag to fill the inside of the “towers” with cream.
